And so we start an epic journey where three college students who regularly gorge themselves on music decide to take a challenge of massive new heights. I am Miranda, and over the recent holiday season a book was entrusted to be titled 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die Edited by Robert Dimery. My first thought was “Of course I’m going to do this before I die”, meaning I was going to listen to every single damn album. As my book made its way to my room at Queens College Jesse and Maria found it…and had the same thought. So we decided we’re not only going to do it, we’re going to blog about it! The goal = finish 1,001 albums by August 26th, 2010 aka the last day of summer before our senior year at school. We start January 1st, 2010. Now that math means…about 4.2 albums a day. And now the thought that has passed every person’s head that we’ve told – “Are you f**king nuts?”, well…yeah kinda. Do we think we can do it? We hope so. Do we think it’s totally going to fail? it better not. We all have the same list posted here, but because of the insanity that happens day to day, were all going at different paces. Sometimes we will have the chance to veg out on a Saturday and listen together, and there will be many days where we will be apart. This means 3 different opinions of the same stuff, or 3 different banters about all the different things we listened to that day. It’s going to be hard as hell, but so much f**king fun! Over the course of this more and more of our personalities will come out, and I’m sure more of our day to day life. It’s going to be the ride of a lifetime, but damn what a way to go.
